What is TYPO3 ELTS and why do I need it?

TYPO3 ELTS (Extended Long-Term Support) is an extended security and maintenance service for TYPO3 versions: each version is supported by a global community of experts for three years with the latest updates. You can extend this timeframe with ELTS. With ELTS, you will continue to receive critical security updates and bug fixes, ensuring that your website can continue to operate securely, stably and in compliance with the GDPR even after End-of-Life (EOL). ELTS is particularly useful if you do not currently plan to upgrade to a new TYPO3 version.

Is a TYPO3 website vulnerable after the official end of support?

Yes – as with any other CMS, a TYPO3 installation is considered a security risk once support has ended. If security vulnerabilities are no longer patched, the risk of hacker attacks, data breaches or system failures increases. TYPO3 ELTS closes precisely this gap and continues to provide security-related updates.

How long can a TYPO3 website continue to be operated using ELTS?

TYPO3 ELTS is available for older LTS versions for which standard support has expired. The standard support period is three years. ELTS extends this period by a further three years – as official TYPO3 partners, we can even offer you cover for a further four years. The following TYPO3 versions are currently supported by ELTS: TYPO3 v10 (with Partner ELTS until 30 April 2027) TYPO3 v11 (with Partner ELTS until 31 October 2028) TYPO3 v12 (with Partner ELTS until 30 April 2030)
