Research for energy-optimised buildings and neighbourhoods

Portal Energiewendebauen – Häuser für die Zukunft

The website ENERGIEWENDEBAUEN - Research for energy-optimised buildings and districts - is the central platform of the research initiative of the same name of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi). With the many topics, research projects, news, publications and events presented there, the focus is on the systemic interaction of buildings, neighbourhoods and energy infrastructure. This is because buildings and neighbourhoods have a central function in the transformation of our energy system. There is enormous potential here to save energy and efficiently cover the remaining demand with renewable energies.

Social relevance

The energy transition is a task for society as a whole. The field of construction and building technology has a key role to play here: this involves methods and concepts for increasing efficiency, integrating renewable energies into the heat supply, climate-neutral construction, software for process optimisation and much more. On behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy BMWi, FIZ Karlsruhe summarises all research projects and funding priorities on this topic in the ENERGIEWENDEBAUEN initiative.

Portal Energiewendebauen: übersichtliche Darstellung der wissenschaftlichen Beiträge und Projekte

The project portal brings together scientific contributions and projects in the field of energy-optimised buildings and neighbourhoods and makes them accessible to the general public.

We ensure visibility and clarity

3pc played a decisive role in the entire development process of the website, from analysis and conception to design and front-end programming to implementation in TYPO3. Our guiding principles were: more attention through an informative and attractive presentation as well as transparency and clarity in the search and development of a variety of interesting research projects.

Efficient for users and editors: Database and search function

The centrepiece of the project is the database with the research projects. Data models for various types of content were developed for this purpose: Projects, publications, news, events, etc. Various project types such as technologies, tools & software or specific settlements can be accessed via an intelligent search. Clearly structured project descriptions display overviews, facts, contexts, contacts and connections with other projects. Co-operation and synergy are just a few clicks away.
