Apply for self-help funding digitally

Self-help complements the range of professional healthcare services and is indispensable for many people. This is why the health insurance funds have been supporting the work of self-help groups, organisations and contact points for almost 30 years. With the web portal "GKV-Selbsthilfeförderung" (SHI self-help funding), funding for self-help organisations at federal level can now be applied for digitally for the first time.

Focused on the essentials: The new UX design
We took over the design of the portal and its translation into the front end. For form-intensive websites, a user-friendly design that focuses on the essentials is particularly important: it enables quick and easy access to the (application) processes. The responsive design ensures that the complex forms are also easy to use on tablets and smartphones.
What was previously only possible in paper form can now be completed conveniently on screen.

Ideal digital: Applying for self-help funding
However, it is not only those involved in self-help that benefit from the practical portal developed by the Verband der Ersatzkassen e. V. (vdek) in the name and on behalf of the six substitute health insurance funds (Techniker Krankenkasse, BARMER, DAK-Gesundheit, KKH Kaufmännische Krankenkasse, hkk - Handelskrankenkasse and HEK - Hanseatische Krankenkasse). The applications can also be checked there by the health insurance funds and their associations.
Whether for self-help organisations or health insurance companies: Self-help promotion can be ideally implemented digitally.
