Concept & design for the RWTH Aachen

Large, diverse, internationally recognised: RWTH Aachen University is one of Europe's leading science and research institutions.
Since summer 2025, RWTH Aachen University has been presenting itself with a renewed website created by our experts for conception and design.
Whether research into artificial intelligence, innovative developments for mining or a conference on dealing with Germany's colonial past: RWTH Aachen University is broadly positioned and internationally recognised for its research projects.
It has been one of Germany's Universities of Excellence since 2019. When the Universities of Excellence funding line is evaluated in summer 2025, RWTH would like to present itself with a renewed online presence: with a visually and conceptually revised website that takes current needs, topics and content into account.

"Together with the Berlin agency 3pc, the needs and wishes of the university have been determined over the past two years through representative workshops and surveys. This resulted in a participatory concept that takes into account the needs of the various university stakeholders in different ways and emphasises the content in a contemporary new look."

One for all - even at first glance
Timeless and modern, fresh and multi-perspective: this is the new design, which we developed in close collaboration with RWTH Aachen University. And although we have adopted the navigation structure from the previous site, the new online presence is clearer thanks to the new design line. The focus was always on the accessibility of the incredibly diverse content - the aim from the outset was to make it easy to grasp and to tailor the overall look and feel to the needs of the users.

Successful process and an all-round good feeling
The fact that this was so successful was also due to the very good working atmosphere at eye level across the board, in which everyone met with mutual goodwill and committed interest: After the final presentation, we were delighted to hear phrases such as "very successful and all comments well received and incorporated". We would like to take this opportunity to send our warmest regards and thanks from our Berlin office to Aachen - for a project that, despite the large number of contributors, really went hand in hand and was fun for everyone involved!
"Planning and work has been underway since 2023, and now the switch to the new version has taken place, visitors can expect a newer, fresher and, above all, more modern design."
