Federal cultural events in Berlin

From logo to website - new corporate design for KBB

A new look for the vernissage: As the federal government's artistic showcase, KBB - Kulturveranstaltungen des Bundes in Berlin GmbH - organises a diverse cultural programme with the Berlinale, the Berliner Festspiele, the Gropius Bau and the Haus der Kulturen der Welt. The "facilitator and host" of internationally significant cultural productions now appears on a website that we have visually revamped - complete with a new corporate design and strengthened by an overarching communication strategy.

Impulses that inspire

With its work, the KBB sets impulses, irritates and stimulates thought. We have taken up this special role in the redesign of the logo and taken it further: the word mark with the sequence of letters KBB is simple and easy to read, but at the same time dances out of line. The K stretches slightly towards the B and thus tilts out of the harmonious position as a small moment of irritation.

Simple understatement as the basis for glitz and glamour

Anyone who sets the stage for others also leaves the glitz and glamour to them and tends to wear their own "wardrobe" with understatement in the background. We have visualised this idea in the design of the new KBB website: The simple, barrier-free online presence presents KBB's diverse tasks and colourful topics without overlaying them with its own eye-catching graphics.

White, black, rainbow

Strong, prominently placed images and videos nevertheless take users into the dazzling world of art and theatre. Against the black and white backdrop of the website, the visual language takes on a special radiance and authentically places the KBB at the centre of attention as a cultural producer.

Three business units, one communication strategy

Defining common goals, finding a common language: In addition to the corporate design and the website, we worked with KBB to develop a communication strategy for the relaunch that strengthens the cultural organiser as a central authority in Berlin's cultural sector. In the end, it was clear the stage for the organiser.
