National Platform for Electromobility

The National Platform for Electromobility (NPE) is the German government's most important advisory body for the realisation of electromobility in Germany. Its approach: e-mobility as a holistic system. An important role is played not only by the development of a self-sustaining market for electric vehicles, but also by the integration of renewable energies and the reform of the transport infrastructure: by 2020, one million electric vehicles should be on the roads in Germany.

The mobility needs of users are always at the centre of attention: the NPE promotes the development of innovative vehicle technologies and the establishment of new information and communication technologies. With the launch of the NPE website, we have contributed to the successful development of electromobility on behalf of acatech - the German Academy of Science and Engineering.
