The work in focus: Gallery of the 20th century

The Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation and the State of Berlin have analysed the provenance of around 450 works of art that were created before 1945 and are owned by the state. It was checked whether the paintings were confiscated during the Nazi era as a result of persecution, i.e. whether the works were unlawfully taken from their owners. The results of the research are now transparently accessible to the international provenance research community and all interested parties on the website www.galerie20.smb.museum. 3pc supported the research project by programming and realising the website. The reduced, restrained design, which uncompromisingly places the works of art centre stage, was created by our designers. Our programmers developed a special script to transfer the database in order to digitise the large number of works and the extensive amount of data.
